I heard a horseman
Ride over the hill;
The moon shone clear,
The night was still;
His helm was silver,
And pale was he;
And the horse he rode
Was of ivory.
馬に乗った御方
馬に乗った御方が
丘の上を馳せめぐったそうな
そりゃ月がさやかに照る
たいそう静かな晩のことで
かぶとは銀色、かんばせは
透きとおる青白さ
駆けゆく馬は象牙の白だった
